The Phil Nelson Challenge Shoot 2024
ANOTHER AMAZING WEEKEND IT WAS!
Everything was set for a thrilling shooting experience for Phil’s guests.
Saturday started with a delicious homemade breakfast for the early birds, featuring bacon donated by James. Thank you!
After sign-in and a mouth-watering lunch buffet, the first round began at 1:00 pm. Archers headed into the woods to tackle 20 targets, and they all did an exceptional job – as always. After a refreshing coffee break, the woods awaited the shooters for the second round.
The weather was perfect, and everyone was in high spirits. The woods were filled with laughter, especially with Travis in full steam.
To close out the first day, a BBQ was served, featuring moose burgers that disappeared in a flash. Thank you, Phil!
The entertainment continued well into the night with John Simms providing acoustic guitar music, accompanied by John Cann.
Sunday started with another scrumptious homemade breakfast before the final round kicked off at 10 am. The archers shone in the sunny weather as they headed back into the woods. After the third round, another lunch buffet was served while the scorecards were tallied.
Carter Pratt won a medal for taking the most shots on Saturday. He was tireless and active not only in the woods but also in ‘The Barn’, where he eliminated all the animals while the other participants gathered their strength to move on to the next run.
Carter, you rock! Well done!
Phil Nelson himself presented the awards, declaring Marcel Doucette the overall winner and the second name on the plaque.
To sum up, the ‘Phil Nelson Challenge’ traditional, annual, invitational shoot was full of fun and laughter.
We’re already looking forward to 2025!
Special thanks to all the participants, helpers, and organizers. Another thank-you goes to Marcel Doucette for donating a handcrafted, beautiful belt as a raffle prize.
