🎄 Barn Archers Christmas Get-Together & Barn Champions Awards 2025 🎯
Held Saturday, December 6, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM
🎄
What a fantastic way to wrap up another year at The Barn! Our Christmas Get-Together was filled with laughter, stories, treats, and of course—some well-earned bragging rights. Everyone walked away with a Christmas Bag (because who doesn’t love surprises?), and with bellies full, spirits high, and bows temporarily resting, we settled in for a look back at 2025 and a peek at what’s coming in 2026.
We shared some stories, a few laughs, and a whole bunch of “Remember that time when…” moments, all sprinkled with the usual Barn-style chaos. We also took a moment to appreciate John and Karen Cann from John’s Archery. Their ongoing support for the traditional archery community is something truly special.
Honestly, how many clubs can say they have a full archery shop right in their building?
Barn Archers really hit the bullseye with these two. Thank you, John & Karen, for everything you do!

🏆 The Awards Ceremony
As plates were cleared and everyone got settled, it was time for the main event: announcing the 2025—and final—Barn Champions in this format.
The competition this year was not for the faint of heart. Targets were hit, arrows were flung, and nerves were tested.
It all came down to a head-to-head battle between Anthony Williams and Matt MacGillivray… until Matt decided to drop out of the race entirely (plot twist!).
Meanwhile, Donnie Abbass and Carlo Lunn zoomed up the leaderboard. Carlo graciously thanked everyone who didn’t show up on Monday club nights—because according to him, that’s the real reason he placed 3rd. Sure, Carlo… but let’s be real, you’re just that good. 😉
Unfortunately, our medalists in the youth category Jake Richards and the MacGillivray girls couldn’t attend.
Madelyn and Grace were off being champions in another sport (clearly that competitive gene is strong). Their absence was felt, but their accomplishments were still celebrated with lots of cheers.
And no, we did not decide to give the medals to the next in line… even though the idea may have crossed our minds for a split second. 😄

🌟 A Special Shoutout
One very important moment of the night was honouring Elsie MacKinnon. Elsie is the glue, the heart, and quite possibly the unsung superhero of Barn Archers.
She keeps us organized, fed, steady, and somehow manages to clean up the chaos we leave in our wake.
She’s our master baker, event helper, and behind-the-scenes wizard.
Without Elsie, our events—and let’s be honest, probably our lives—would look very different.
Thank you, Elsie, for everything you do for your Barn family.

🎯 Wrapping Up
A huge thank-you to all our members for your ongoing support. The Barn Family keeps growing, thanks to your enthusiasm and word-of-mouth.
Keep telling your friends (and your neighbour, and your cousin, and that guy at the grocery store wearing camo…).
Congratulations to all the winners—and here’s to an exciting 2026! 🎉🏹
