Barn Trophy 2024

Barn Trophy 2024

What a day it was on Saturday, October 5, 2024! The much-anticipated Barn Trophy event drew in a crowd of eager archers, though not without its quirks. 23 Barn Archers were listed and participated. 12 couldn’t make it due to work commitments, sports obligations, or just plain old sickness.
Talk about a crowded barn—or should we say a partially empty barn?

The festivities kicked off at 10 AM sharp, with 20 animals waiting to be mastered by our brave shooters, each armed with 2 arrows. The scoring format? Oh, just the thrilling Killzone method: 10 points for hitting the kill zone and 5 points for hitting anything else on the target. It’s like archery meets a game show—who doesn’t love some competitive spirit?
Despite the stakes, all the archers were remarkably relaxed. Weather? Perfect. Complaints? Zero—because let’s face it, The Barn is a complaint-free zone. Who knew archers could be so zen?

Now, let’s not forget the highlight of the day: our very own Anthony pulled off a spectacular Robin Hood moment! Yes, you heard that right— But poor Petra’s arrow was not very pleased with this turn of events; it was probably thinking, “I was aiming for glory, not to be a target practice!”
After the first round, lunch was served—delicious as always—and then it was back to the shooting course for round two. Once the arrows were shot, everyone returned to The Barn for some well-deserved chit-chat over coffee and treats. The excitement was palpable as everyone awaited the awards ceremony.
