Summer Sizzle 2026 – What a Weekend!
The “Summer Sizzle” 2026 is officially in the books—and what a fantastic weekend it was!
Weather: Gorgeous
Course: Wonderful
Company: Awesome
Crew: Fantastic
A bunch of traditional archers found their way to “The Barn” this weekend to fling some arrows.
Each morning started with hot coffee before everyone headed into the woods for another day of shooting.
And guess what? It wasn’t just our locals—one archer even travelled from the mainland to Cape Breton Island!
We welcomed him with a big round of applause and plenty of cheering. Thanks so much for coming out!
The event included three rounds of 20 3D targets, with two arrows shot at each target. There was even a pirate ship hidden in the woods, where archers had to battle the captain to earn some extra points on their scorecards.
But that wasn’t the end of the story. A pig was ready for the BBQ, and luckily, the rats never decided to turn it into an all-you-can-eat buffet!
Then there was the big white goat. You’ll have to ask Donnie about his battle with that beast.
Lots of laughter echoing through the woods, and somehow, a few arrows mysteriously disappeared. Maybe the pirate ship had something to do with it!
No one went hungry. As always, the food at “The Barn” was plentiful and delicious. This year, we were even able to serve sweet corn at the Saturday afternoon BBQ—and it was absolutely delicious.
A big thank-you to Jody for that!
Saturday evening, the campfire was the perfect place to relax and chat—not only about archery, but also to let a wonderful first day of shooting slowly wind down.
There really aren’t enough words to thank all the participants, the people working behind the scenes, our members, and all our guests for their ongoing support of the club.
Thank you all for making the Summer Sizzle 2026 such a great weekend!
Congratulations to all the winners!
JJ Palmer was part of the weekend but is missing from the group photo.
