Wrapping Up the Second Barn Winter-Wind-Up Shoot: Another Fantastic Event!
The Barn’s second annual Winter-Wind-Up Shoot has officially wrapped up, and what a wonderful event it’s been!
Building on the success of last year’s inaugural shoot, this event once again brought together traditional archers for friendly, skillful winter competition.
Recurve and longbow shooters alike showed tremendous enthusiasm, making the 2026 Winter-Wind-Up a season to remember.
A Winter Tradition in the Making
The Winter-Wind-Up Shoot continued to welcome archers of all experience levels to the cozy indoor 18m range.
Participants took aim at the ever-popular “Barn Targets,” inspired by Delta MacKenzie ASA designs, adding just the right amount of challenge and variety.
To qualify for awards, shooters attended at least six sessions throughout the season, with their best scores averaged to determine final standings.
Exciting Finals Weekend
The event concluded on March 29 with an exciting finals round where the top five archers in each category faced off once again—three targets, three arrows each, with results added to their qualifying totals. It was a thrilling finish and a great display of focus and sportsmanship from all finalists.
Standout Performances
A special congratulations goes out to the Williams family — Olivia, Jennifer, and Anthony — who each took home gold in their respective categories.
Their dedication and consistency throughout the season were one of the highlights of the event.
In addition to his category win, Anthony Williams was also crowned the Overall Winner of the 2026 Winter-Wind-Up and received the $100 gift certificate generously sponsored by MacHoll IT Services and provided by John’s Archery.
This year also saw the introduction of the Golden Age class, and it proved to be a great success! The new division added an inspiring dynamic to the competition, showcasing the experience, composure, and skill of our most seasoned archers.
Community and Celebration
The Winter-Wind-Up wasn’t just about scores—it was also about coming together to share good company and celebrate another successful event.
The award ceremony featured plenty of smiles and congratulations all around, making it a warm and memorable conclusion to the winter series.
Looking Ahead
With two successful events now behind us, the Winter-Wind-Up is quickly becoming a Barn tradition. We’re already looking forward to 2027 and exploring new features—perhaps expanding divisions or adding creative challenges for returning shooters. Suggestions are always welcome!
A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who participated, volunteered, or came out to cheer. Special appreciation goes to John and Karen from John’s Archery for their ongoing support throughout the event.
