The TAANS Shoot 2024 - A Grand Success!
We are thrilled to share the highlights from this year’s TAANS Shoot 2024, proudly hosted by Barn Archers, and John’s Archery.
Despite an initial hiccup with the shooting location, the Metro Rifle & Pistol Club (MRPC) graciously offered their property for the event. This turned out to be a fantastic choice. MRPC built an outhouse, members of ‘The Barn’ cleaned the Biathlon trail for a smooth walking experience, and CBRM provided us with beautiful canopies.
We had an incredible turnout with 60 attendees signed up and 56 archers showing up, braving the hot and humid weather. Plenty of water and ice were on hand to keep everyone cool. Food was plentiful, including apples, bananas, and the classic BBQ fare with side salads.
Event Highlights:
- Shooting Rounds: Each day featured two rounds with 20 targets each.
- Traditional TAANS Milk Jug Shoot: Over 80 milk jugs filled with water were transported to the range, a task easily handled by the Barn Archers crew!
- Best Campfire Story Challenge: A new challenge cup was presented by Marla Webber, with the winner earning the title of ‘Best Campfire Story.’
- Longest Journey Prize: A gas gift card was awarded to the person who travelled the farthest.
- Youth Category Prizes: MRPC donated cash prizes to the top three places in the youth category.
